Here's an original from Dr. Swagg, who is worth double any emcee, which would make him an emcee squared. Word.
For my students who encourage me to try new things…
Math Rap
I’m new at this, so don’t you dis’ or you’ll miss the bliss of this salutate.
They call me Mr. Plagge, alias Dr. Swagg, the flag you salute and cannot hate.
Red, white, and blue always true, plus one more, I don’t want to be mean,
But I can’t forget the trip that is UNT, the part of me that bleeds green.
Now sit still, get chilled, you know the drill cuz the deal is I’m still talking,
Use these cues I’m pulling for you to use or you’ll be accused, blackballed, no pardon.
I’m bringing you math, the mini-mall of higher education,
Teaching you to use addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.
Shhh, I’m about to operate, the bell rings, stops, broken when I walk in, don’t hesitate,
you’ll be late, miss the chance to enhance skills to consistently calculate
I may have recently picked up rhapsody, but still it seems to be I have no hair,
I’m double the emcee anyone will ever be, so I be the E that equals emcee squared.
My lyrics are ill, put you in infirmary,
So drought the spit you spout from that mouth and prepare cuz you gonna learn from me,
I had the good sense to get a license to prove I know the science to teach you knowledge,
Cuz we all know the holes no math blows on your goals you hold to go to college:
No math, no knowledge, no college, no better,
Know math, mo’ knowledge, go college, mo’ cheddar.
This may be hard, you know your thoughts just started,
Misfire, backfire, and now your brain just – hmmmm…..
And all this is like a splash of cold water,
But cold gets hot and can only get hotter,
So while my rhymes are fresh and before they’re discarded,
Get your pencil, your paper, wake up, and let’s get started!
